We're Here to Change Pheasant Conservation for the Better
Since 1992, Fed up with wildlife habitat losses taking place, and spurred to action by a column from Dennis Anderson, Outdoor Editor at the Saint Paul (Minnesota) Pioneer Press and Dispatch, avid pheasant hunters and conservationists helped form Pheasants Forever in 1982. Since then, the organization has grown steadily and expanded its wildlife habitat conservation mission across much of the United States and parts of Canada.

About Nemaha Valley Pheasants Forever

Last year our chapter celebrated 25 years of supporting and encouraging conservation practices along with 20 years of investing in the future of area youth. Our goals have never changed along the way but we understand that adopting new ideas and trying new fundraisers are important to be successful.  The Chapter has decided to host a golf tournament as our annual fundraiser in place of the winter banquet this year.

We have been very successful and thankful because of your support.  Our chapter’s Youth Mentor Hunt started in 1998 and to date we have had 329 area youth go through this program.  We have invested over $32,000 though our chapter’s Youth Mentor Hunt! We have also been busy initiating and enhancing habitat through our two no-till grass drills.  Our drills continue to be busy at all times of the year. We also support a lot of state programs that enhance habitat all over Nebraska. Last year alone, in Nemaha County, we helped fund over 3,600 acres of Open Field and Water Program.  This program pays landowners to allow public access hunting and fishing on their land. We also help fund Habitat Share Program. The Habitat Share Program enhances public access Wildlife Management Areas in Nemaha County so that they produce more pheasants and quail!

We need your help to continue our success.  The Chapter looks forward to hosting this new event and we hope that as a past supporter you will continue to support our goals of improving habitat and hosting our annual youth mentor hunts. If it doesn't work for you to participate in the golf outing we will be serving a banquet style meal in the evening for everyone.  Details about the golf tournament will be mailed out as soon as we can. Date of the Golf tourney has been set for April 28 and more details will be sent out the closer we get to the tournament date.  We have limited space so please get your registrations back to me as soon as you can. Your membership is very important to our continued success and we know that many of you always renew your membership at banquet time. Please help us keep your membership current and mail the $35 membership to address listed below. You won’t miss a single issue of the PF Magazine this way. Please make checks out to Nemaha Valley Pheasants Forever.

Thanks for being a chapter member in the past and we look forward to seeing you April 28th at the Auburn Country Club for our annual Pheasants Forever fundraiser.
